INTRODUSTION
Week 01
27/08/18
This is the first class of Illustration & Visual Narrative so Mr Hafiz briefing us this module at MIB. After that, Mr Hafiz introduced us a commutation media that we going to use in our class which is Google Classroom. After everything is settle, we started our first lecturer which is tracing out Vormator elements by using pen tool and some easier shortcut keys at Adobe Illustrator. This is because we need to use those Vormator elements to create our own character for our first project.
Techniques & Tools that used:
- Zoom in/ zoom out (command + [+/-])
- Lock the element (command + "2")
- Pen tool (press "P")
EXERCISE

After we learn how to make highlight and shadow, Mr Hafiz uploaded a exercise for us to see our improvement by using photo that given in Google Classroom.

Week 02
03/09/18
This week we got no lecturer due to public holiday. To improve my skills, I play the game that Mr Hafiz upload at Google Classroom which named "The Bezier Game". In this game, it taught us how to use pen tool and there are some shortcut of it.
SHADOW, HIGHLIGHTS & GRADIENT
Week 03
10/09/18 - 13/09/18
This week Mr Hafiz taught us create some simple character by using those Vormator elements that given. He also taught us how to duplicate, rotate, reflect and create shadow for the character. Not only that, Mr Kannan also taught us about colour gradient. There are three things to different those colour which are highlight, full body colour (primary colour) and shadow. Not only that, Mr Kannan also taught us how to make our character more attractive by using those skills.
Tools & Technique that we learn:
- Knife tool (Inside at eraser tool)
- Reflection tool (press "R")
- Rotate tool (press "O")
- Duplicate
- Gradient tool (press "G")

TEXTURE & BLOB BRUSH
Week 04
17/09/18 - 20/09/18
Mr Kannan introduced us on making texture and also he taught us about brushes and blob brush tool. He said that blob brush tool is better than brush tool. Not only that we can paint a things by using blob brush tool but it have to be connect.
Technique & Tools that used for Blob Brush Tool:
- Paintbrush tool (press "B")
- Blob brush tool (shift + "B")
- Drawing a things (have to be connect)
- Direct selection tool (press "A")
- Paint the inside part (select the inside part of the drawing > delete > delete)

Technique & Tools that used for Texture:
- Place a picture
- Copy the picture
- Add a texture picture (adjust the transparency > make mask > select the mask box >
CHIAROSCURO
Week 05
24/09/18 - 27/09/18
Mr Kannan and Mr Hafiz gives us a exercise which is Chiaroscuro. Chiaroscuro focus more on lighting and shadow. In Mr Kannan class, he taught us how to do it by using a pear as reference. After Mr Kannan taught us, I practive it by creating another pear that look like avocado in it to improve my skills of it.
Technique & Tools that used:
- Pen tool
- Knife tool

Steps by step:
1. Use pen tool to trace the half of the pear
2. Change the colour of it

3. Use the reflect tool to reflect the another half pear
4. Use pen tool to trace the shadow of the pear
5. Change the shadow part to darker colour

6. Cut the pear into few part to make change (use knife tool)
7. Choose few different colour for the cut out part and shadow
8. Trace the top part of the pear to make it more real

EXERCISE

TRANSITIONS
Week 07
08/10/18
This week, Mr Hafiz introduced us different types of transition that mostly used in comics which help us to do our Project II. There are few type of it which are aspect to aspect, moment to moment, action to action, subject to subject, scene to scene and also non sequitur.

After Mr Hafiz explained each transitions to us, he give us an exercise which to see our understanding of it. Meanwhile, he also taught us crop the part of comics easily by using clipping mask. It can help us crop the image faster and we also can return the image quickly.

TEXTURE & SHADOW
Week 08
15/10/18
This week, Mr Kannan taught us some technique of drawing in Adobe Photoshop because Adobe Photoshop have more brush than Adobe Illustrator. We started with create texture and shadow by using Adobe Photoshop. To help our Project II, Mr Kannan taught us how to shading to an object and we started with a simple element which is circle.
Step by Step:
1. Drawing a circle by using Ellipse tool
2. Add highlight & shadow (lower down the opacity of brush to prevent the look of weird)
