Week 01
(01/04/2019)
Mr Vinod and Mr Shamsul briefed us about this module and our assessments through MIB. They explained it one by one in detail to let us more understand about it. After that, there are a student ask Mr Vinod some question such as " What make good design?". Mr Vinod said to make a good design, we have to have a good thinking, good execution and the most important is, you can explain your own work.
After that, Mr Vinod showed us our timeline to do those exercise and project, they hope us use our time well. Mr Vinod also brief us the first exercise which is Typographic Systems. He told us the requirement of it and more detail about it. Not only that, Mr Vinod remind us to do our blog and he hope us can update it every week. At last, Mr Vinod and Mr Shamsul also remind us don't be selfish in class, we should share our knowledge and not just keep it.
Week 02

Mr Vinod lets all of us present the 8 typography systems in the class. We were separated into few group which had decided by last class. After we presented, Mr Vinod and Mr Shamsul consult us personally for our sketches of the first exercise which are the 8 typography systems.
After showing to Mr Vinod and Mr Shamsul, I made some change on the Modular System.

After Mr Vinod briefed us about the first exercise which is '8 Typography Systems". There are some content and information that we mush included in our design which given by Mr Vinod.

After we done our sketches, we started design in on Abode InDesign.

After showing my first attempt design to Mr Vinod and Mr Shamsul. I made some change for my change for my final attempt which I change some font of the topic to make it more show up, and also the space between each words.

EXERCISE 02 : TYPE & PLAY (PART I)
Week 03 - Week 05

Mr Vinod briefed us about our next exercise which is "Type & Play". In this exercise, we have to choose photo either nature thing, man-made object or building structures. In the photo that we have chosen, we have to find some alphabets inside of it to create a new typeface.
After Mr Vinod briefed us about this exercise, my mind was all about nature things such as tree, flower and leave. So after i went back home, I captured some photo that around my house and also in my house.
After that I chosen a photo that full of flower and i started tracing the flower andfinding alphabets in it by using Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.

After that I chosen a photo that full of flower and i started tracing the flower andfinding alphabets in it by using Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.

After I found those Alphabets, i shown it to Mr Vinod and Mr Shamsul, they told me that i have found too many and they just need 4/5 alphabets so they ask me to choose some. After listen to this, I decided to choose the alphabets "E","L","O","T"and "X".
After I decided what alphabets I want, i start refining the typeface using a exsiting typeface. I start creating the new typeface after I done refining it.

EXERCISE 03 : TYPE AND PLEY (PART II)
Week 05 - Week 06

In this exercise, Mr Vinod and Mr Shamsul ask us to choose a image and create a tittle for it. We can choose any image that we want but the title that we put have to be related with the image.For the image, I choose something like dancing and jumping combination because I think the pose is very beautiful. While i finding those image, I found a guys who named "Daniil Simkin" and his pose are really nice and beautiful.

After i shown it to Mr Shamsul, i realised we didn't need to use the 8 typographic systems to create the poster. Not only that, our tittle have to related to the images so i choose the second poster and work more on it.

FEEDBACK
Week 02

For our general feedback, Mr Vinod said the the should being the presentation by introducing the group members and the topic that we going to present. Not only that, we also have to make eye contact to the audience when we are doing our presentation. Mr Vinod also encourages both of the presenters and audience to ask question. Beside that, Mr Vinod said that when we should give points and examples in a same slide so it easier to explain when we are presenting.
For my personal feedback, I showed Mr Vinod some of my sketches and he said that I am on the right way and I could try sketch more to find out something new or something interesting. For the "Transitional" Typography System, Mr Vinod give some comment about it which I can try make a wave or something else to attract the audience eyes. For the "Grid" Typography Systems, Mr Vinod said that I should use the grind line so that I can decide where to put the text and it will look like.

Week 03

Mr Vinod give some advise to us for our exercise for our general feedback. He said that can use minimal elements and only one colour when we feel it is necessary. Not only that, Mr Vinod also mentioned us about the body text for the exercise which should use 8-12 pt.
After that, I showed Mr Vinod some of my work and he give me an overall feedback. Mr Vinod say that my work is not bad and can improve more. Not only that, Mr Vinod give me some adivse for my work which the font of the topic can be different so it can show up more. Besides that, he also mentioned that i can slightly space up the font when the font is too sticky. Mr Vinod also told me that the alphabet have to make it 0.5pt smaller when the number & alphabet (big) are together.
For our general feedback, Mr Vinod told us to refer an existing typeface so that we can create a new typeface. Not only that, Mr Vinod and Mr Shamsul ask us to complete our exercise by this week so that we won't delay other project and exercise. Week 04

Mr Vinod told me that my Modular Systems have to be in the box and have to able to around. The box for the content have to be same so that it can be move. After seeing all systems, Mr Vinod give me a overall feedback which he think others systems is fine and ok but the systems that he and Mr Shamsul like the most is Axial Systems. They do give some comment for it which is i understoond the rules for this systems because the white space and the text is balance.
After they give me feedback about the exercise, Mr Shamsul give some feedback for the blog. He said that i have to put the exercise (PDF) one by one, the thumbnail that i upload can't be scroll and i havent complete the blog yet.
Week 05

For my personal feedback, Mr Shamsul give me some comment about my work which he think i did too much of font and i can start refine my typeface. Not only that, Mr Shamsul also give some feedback for the next exercise whcih we are doing on that day. Mr Shamsul told me that the text have to match the photo and i no need to put the information of the person that in the photo on the poster. I did few of it and Mr Shamsul think that the last one which is the "Dnacers don't need wings to fly." is fine and i can work more on that.
Week 06

Mr Vinod told us that we have to punctual no matter what we are doing because it will influence our work.
For my personal feedback of the Type and Play exercise, Mr Vinod and Mr Shamsul said that the flower and the alphabet that i found is okay. The refining is okay and the refined alphabet of "E","L","T" and "O" is okay just the alphabet of the "X" is a bit too sharp for the strokes but its still okay. Not only that, Mr Vinod and Mr Shamsul also give me some feedback for the exercise 3 which are the title. Mr Vinod told me that I work more harder to get the level but the typeface that I choose for the poster is fine and it have to be more into the image for example, someone is kicking the ball so the ball fly, the title of it have to follow the action as well.

Week 01

Today is my first class and i felt quite happy and nervous at the same time. Not only that, I already felt that this module will be double tough than Typography class.

We having a short presentation on today which about the 8 Typographic Systems and i felt nervous and confused for the presentation and the typographic systems.

I felt joyful today because Mr Vinod and Mr Shamsul like my Axial systems which i get confused at the first and after that i understand the systems.
Week 05

I felt stressful because my laptop can't function today so that i have to figure it out. Not only that, i get confused by the third exercise which is the "tittle" at first.

I felt exhausted because i got no laptop to do my work and i have to stay back at school. Not only that, I get a bit blur when Mr Vinod briefed us about the first project. After listening Mr Vinod and Mr Shamsul's feedback, i felt that i have to work hard on the exercise.OBSERVERTION

I realised that Advanced Typography is really harder than Typography which I learn it on the first semester.

I realised that every times there are a presentation, i will get nervous because i not confident enough to present in front of everyone.

I found that when Mr Vinod and Mr Shamsul told me that my Axial systems is fine because i felt that my hard work pay and it is a happy things.

I found out that there are very tough when i got no laptop to do my homework. Not only that, i also realised that i get confused for the tittle exercise because I didn't get what Mr Vinod and Mr Shamsul want.

I noticed that it is a bit tough to make a good poster because I haven't reach the level yet and i have to work hard on it.
